There's a bug in the software that only strikes when uploading pictures. I discussed it in a recent post; read the thread below titled "posting pictures" for an explanation.

About your picture: the rule of thirds is only a guideline, and like any guideline it doesn't apply to all situations. For instance, your picture is very similar to a portrait. Not a fish portrait, which has very specific meaning, but rather a human portrait, except the subject is a fish. In classic portraiture, the subject is frequently centered. Also, the shallow DOF in your picture is another classic portraiture technique, and serves to separate the subject from the background.

I think your picture is very funny, and works quite well. The only thing I'd change is the lighting, as I think it's over-strobed. The nose of the fish, especially above and to the right of the mouth, is washed out. The picture is also a little flat, although you might have done that to help keep that hot spot down a little...but some more contrast would definitely help the rest of the picture!

All in all, it's a pretty decent shot. I like it!
