many will admit. If a person wants to get better and puts the effort into it, there's no reason they can't come up the learning curve quickly with a digital camera.

I can safely say that on my trip to Thailand and Burma (7-day liveaboard plus some land based diving) I covered as much of the learning curve as I would have in a dozen trips with a film camera. It took hundreds of shots of course, most of which got junked, but I could see instantly if I didn't get the blue background I wanted or the framing I wanted, etc.
