Man I wish I had some underwater photos to show off!

After a couple days playing with this camera, I've convinced myself that it'll satisfy my 'technowigetophelia' if not my need for a camera update. I haven't ordered the housing or strobe yet, that'll come soon enough. I have purchased some 1800mAH batteries/fast charger and a filter addapter (major design flaw here), and I'll get a bigger mem card soon.

I'm real happy with the shots I've gotten so far with this thing. There's plenty to learn as with any new techo toy but it's clear why people are coming back with good shots from u/w use. The bad shots I've taken so far are from over exposure using the flash, poor use of the auto focus (it has a couple modes that I need to study), and leaving the camera in a mode that alters white balance for different lighting.

I'm still ticked that Olympus sells this thing without rechargeable batteries, without an AC addapter, whith only a 16MB card, and with a lens cap mounting that will damage the lense motor. The latter is unthinkable in a device that has a bazillion man hours invested in its design. Oh well, I still recommend it so far.
