Does anyone have any experience or advice of using a 50mm lens in a SLR UW Housing in combination with tubes?

If using a dome port, you normally add a +4 diopter. But what if I want to get some more macro effect, can I use extesion tubes?

I understand that the reason that you add a +4 diopter is to shorten the length of focussing. This effect is also achieved by a tube, so can I

- Leave the diopter away
- Use both?
