Hi,

For a few years now, I am a fanatic land fotographer. I like to dive as well, so right now I am trying to set my first steps in UW fotography.
I found a second hand Ikelite UW housing for my Canon camera, so that's a good start.

But now:
Recently I bought a zoom lens (28-200mm / 3.5-5.6) from Tamron. For land photograpy when I am traveling, this makes the perfect lens. It is small and light and has excellenty optics (also macro).
An UW photo shop, adviced me not to use this lens, because of the (to their opinion) 'poor light sensitivity'.

Because I have to purchase a dome port, I am wondering what to do. I really would love to use the Tamron lens for UW as well. But is it a good choice? Another thing is that the minimum lenght of the lens is 70mm and the maximum is about 120mm. Can I use the total range of the lens then? Or will I get distortion at the edges if the lens is set on 28mm?

Please give me your opinion?

Peter
