with macro, what works above the water will often work below. So I suggest you take a bunch of macro shots before you go to figure out what your camera does and doesn't do well, how close or far it will focus in macro mode, if it tends to overexpose close subjects (not uncommon), and how to fix these things quickly. You might even do this with the camera in the housing so you can get familiar with its controls. You might also work on identifying subjects of the correct size for your macro setup...i.e. something that nearly fills your image at a distance you can focus from. There's a tendency to try to shoot things that are too small.

The only specific suggestion I have concerning the camera settings is to put it in forced flash mode (often called 'fill flash') so the flash fires with every shot. The flash is needed with every shot even if the camera thinks there's enough light because the light that's there will be blue-green.
