●●●Old Pecan Street Fall Festival
- Sep 29 & 30, 2007
The largest whole family event in Central Texas featuring over 200 arts and
crafts exhibitors, 40 vendors, dozens of bands, dance lessons,
multicultural performers and more than 300,000 people. And now
debuting the Pecan Street Powerflicker (film fest) and Lone Star Stories.
●●●Texas Parks & Wildlife Expo 2007 - October 6th &
7th, 2007
An outdoor experience where children can get up close and personal to one of
Texas's top of the food chain keystone species, the Alligator; try their hand at
making cool clay-dough critters; get hooked on fishing at the magnetic fishing
pond, and visit the Texas Zoo’s display of live native Texas animals. As a
special attraction, . SeaWorld's Chris Bellows brings his "Amazing
Animals" to the Main Tent twice a day. Come see live animals from every
continent—including penguins! Shows at 11 AM and 2 PM.
●●●Grimm's Grim Fairy Tales!
at Pioneer Farms- October 6, 13, 27, and

Do you dare to take a hayride through the dark woods of Pioneer Farms as the
Brother's Grimm's fairy tales come alive? Hayrides will depart the village of
Sprinkle Corner every 15 min. from 7pm until 9:30pm. Plan to arrive at least
half an hour prior to your scheduled hayride to allow sufficient time for check
in. There will be a phrenologist and a fortuneteller visiting Sprinkle Corner to
entertain visitors as they await the hayride.

A family event that offers children and their grownups the opportunity to ride
with classic storybook friend Thomas the Tank Engine™. Parents, grandparents and
siblings join their aspiring engineers in the fun including a 25 minute
ride with Thomas, a visit with Sir Topham Hatt, storytelling, live music and
more.

Enjoy train rides, pony rides, obstacle course, rock wall, food, arts and

raises money for many local charities and offers a full day of food, arts &

Ghouls, goblins, pirates, dragons and ghosts are calling you to frightening fun
and heart-pounding thrills. The Trail of Terror is a raging river of
danger. A Maze of Horror through a 1/4 mile of deep, dark Forest in the heart of
Austin, Texas. Spooks lurk in the murky shadows, the children of the night wait
to greet you behind every tree. Vampires... werewolves... mummies. It will take
every ounce of courage you have not to scream.

Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls- Throughout October
Take some time this Fall to enjoy the new weather and peaceful Texas
countryside by wandering through Sweet Berry Farms' mazes, and pick a freshly
grown pumpkin for Halloween or Thanksgiving. Throughout October, they
will host pumpkin painting, hayrides, pumpkin pie ice cream and goats and
horses for petting.
●●●Goblins in the Garden at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center - Sunday
October 28th
Boo! Time to put on your best costume and come to the Wildflower Center’s
annual family Halloween festival! Explore the Mad Scientist’s Laboratory in the
Little House. Take a family portrait in the Punkin’ Patch. Check out the Haunted
Tower! 4 to 7 p.m. |

●●●Boo at the Zoo! - Austin Zoo -Weekends October 19th - October 28th
Take a train ride through the dark hill country with lighted Halloween exhibits
and spooky folks (not too scary for little ones). The zoo will be lit up
at night, but bring at least one flashlight per family. The nocturnal
animals will be awake and it is just a different feel at night.

Celebrate Kyle's 127th birthday with a free music fest featuring Rick
Trevino, BBQ cook-off, parade, children's games and more.
●●●Austin Family Music Festival at Pioneer Farms -
October 20th
The premier annual music event for Central Texas families! There will be 4
stages with over 20 performances, starring Austin's own Emmy-nominated Biscuit
Brothers, plus Sarah Hickman, Joe McDermott, Lucas Miller, The Armstrong
Community Music School of Austin Lyric Opera, and more! Participate in hands-on
musical exhibits such as musical hayrides, drum circle, an instrument petting
zoo, music lessons, and a kid's karaoke area! Plus the pumpkin patch, hay maze,
and old-fashioned family activities and demonstrations create the perfect
setting for a great day of family fun!
●●●Monarch Celebration
at Wild Seeds Farm in Fredericksburg - October 20th - 21st
In combined effort with Monarch Watch at the University of Kansas, Monarchs
will be “tagged” and released throughout the United States as part of a
large-scale mark and recapture program to aid in the study and research of their
migration. Visitors can observe Monarch tagging and release demonstrations and
see graceful butterflies surrounded by the plants they use for nectar and as
host plants. Witness the magic of the butterfly life cycle and learn the basics
of butterfly gardening. Fun for the whole family.
●●●Camp Seaworld Halloween Sleepovers - October 20th and October 27th
During this overnight spooktacular, campers and friends will join SeaWorld
counselors for Halloween activities and shows. A pizza snack and continental
breakfast will be provided.
●●●Moonlighting (Full Moon) at Wild Basin Nature Preserve - October 26th
Enjoy a spectacular view of the full moon rise from the overlook of Wild
Basin. Learn about the different moon phases, science, legends, and lore with
the knowledgeable volunteers of the Austin Astronomical Society. Please bring a
small flashlight and water, and you may want to bring a small cushion. $4 for
adults; $2 for seniors and ages 5-12.
●●●Old Fashioned Fall Festival - October 27th
Ideal for families, the festival will feature a children's carnival with pony
rides and games. Bring a side dish to share for the huge potluck dinner that
begins at 6pm. Or experience the one-of-a-kind karaoke hayride. As the sun sets,
a bonfire will be lit for roasing marshmallows. We'll cap off the night by
handing out prizes for best costume and best pre-carved pumpkin.

Symphony Children's Halloween Concert - October 28th
The 45-minute program typically consists of a symphonic selection for children,
like Peter and the Wolf and other short classical favorites. These two Sunday
afternoon public performances give parents a chance to introduce their children
to the symphony at an early age in a fun way!
●●●Pumpkin Sculpting Workshop at Umlauf Sculpture Garden - October 28th
Bring a pumpkin and your own carving tools to the Umlauf
and Professor Pumpkin (aka Austin sculptor Marla Ripperda) will show you how to
carve your pumpkin. Free admission when you bring a pumpkin.

One of the nation's largest, most acclaimed renaissance theme parks
where the sights, sounds, tastes and beauty of the 16th Century come alive every
Saturday and Sunday for 7 weekends

●●●Wurstfest in New Braunfels - October 29 - November 7
During the 10-day festival, you’ll find a variety of entertainment, food
and fun on the Wurstfest Grounds in Landa Park and many special events throughout New
Braunfels and Comal County. On the fairground is a small carnival with ferris
wheel and merry-go-round. In addition, there are bands playing German
music and lots of German food available. |

Get a jump on seasonal festivities and join the Biscuit Brothers for a very
special holiday extravaganza filled with music to celebrate the season!
●●●Chuy's Children Giving to Children Parade - Saturday, November 24, 2007
Come downtown for the parade and help make Christmas a happier time for a child.
Started modestly in 1989, the parade is now an Austin tradition complete with
floats, marching bands, giant balloons, live music, and of course Santa Claus.
