You can definitely use a flat port with the 50mm lens, and I suspect you can get away with it for the 28-80 also. I know edc is using a flat port with his 24mm prime lens in his Ikelite housing, and he says it works...so the 28 should work at least as well. At 80mm the flat port is definitely going to work.

So go ahead and try! If you have trouble anywhere, it will be with at the 28mm side of that zoom. Everywhere else should be OK.
