The above post had the following text but it dissapeared for some reason. YO DAVE, bug alert.
---
Frankly it wasn't that big of a deal, in all only about 45 minutes effort. The foam in the Pelican case comes in four parts, the "egg crate" layer in the lid, a 1" layer of plain foam in the bottom, and two layers of foam that fill the rest of the space. These two are pre-scored on a 1/2" checkerboard pattern for easy configuration (they call it "pull & pluck" foam, I call it "pluck & chuck". Once you decide what to remove, I found it easiest to slide a very sharp knife down the prescore line, cutting only about the top 1/2", to be sure it tears on the score you want. This may not be necessary but seemed to help.

I laid everything on top of the foam as I wanted it, and simply pulled out big chunks first. The housing body space came out first in one rectangular block. I slid the housing into this space until something interfered and then removed the interference. The strobe head's space came out as one big rectangle, then I removed a little more for its foot and connector. The only thing that required much creativity was the slave sensor cord. The curved space for this was the only part that wasn't done using the pre-cut segments. I cut this by hand about 3/4 inch deep with a sharp knife.

Not all of the holes go all the way through the foam. For example, the tray handle space is only in the top layer of foam while the housing body goes through both layers. The space where you see the specimine cup (holds disiccant packets) is just a big block removed for extra bits.
