I usually shoot ISO 100 film in my N90s. If I have to "settle" for an ISO 400 sensor, that's OK with me. The things that the Foveon sensor get you are better color rendition, no honeycombing on the sensor layout (i.e. sharper, more achromatic images), higher pixel density (in principle), a cheaper manufacturing process, and supposedly a much faster readout. For all that, ISO 400 is totally liveable...and I suspect that the noise problem will get engineered away over time.

It's a pretty exciting technology. I'm looking forward to seeing some actual product.
