I originally thought it wasn't all that good because of the 'poor' (one-sided) lighting on the coral head. After I lightened it a little, I started to appreciate it and I've about decided that I agree with you that it's one of the better ones from the trip. I still think the super-colorful reef scene is the best overall, but this one is much more original.

About that hot spot, I shoot these 'blue background' shots by putting the camera in auto exposure, metering the blue and locking the exposure. I then set the strobe up for the aperture it selected. In this case, I think I metered without the sun in the frame, then changed framing so the sun was in it...oops. I didn't do any post-shoot adjusting of this one at all except for size.

BTW, my strobe is at Ikelite, should be back to me by the end of the week. Hopefully it'll be the last time.
