What I mean is I was using the whole metering field (the N6006 has 5 segments vs the F100/N90/N80's with 9) to establish which aperture to use. In aperture priority mode, meter on a blue water region, adjust aperture until the meter is happy, no "clicks" postive or negative. Once again similar to the higher end newer cameras, you can select the multi-segment metering, center weighted (about 25% of the field) or spot metering (about 5%).

Thinking about it more during the day, I don't think that multi-segment metering vs center weighted or spot would have made much difference as I meter into as much blue area as I can, ie there is no significant difference in light values across the field while metering.

In theory, if there was a large "darker" area in the field (say a whacking big rock or overhang) using the multi-segment metering, the camera might suggest a larger aperture to allow exposure within that dark area, but as this is not the case it shouldn't have made a difference.

I'll try exposing the film at around ISO 150 next weekend when I am in Jacksonville, and see how that goes.

BTW: Saw your reply on the D2D board. Thanks. Pity I am not going to make it to the FG's trip this year, getting married kinda chewed up the money :-P
