As to the announcement, you're right - it was removed right after it was posted. But I think there's enough smoke there to assume a fire. I won't be buying anything soon. I don't see paying a $3,500 premium for digital, ever. The 1v's are selling for around 1,500 the 1d's are $5000+. Hmmm, same exposure control and autofocus mechanism for 3.6X the money. In a few years, when a full frame digital SLR with 45 autofocus points and a top drawer exposure meeting system is selling for what the D60 is now, color me interested. It will be time to retire the 95 Grand Caravan by then anyway ;-)
