On the Canon 20-35 USM, the front element is really big. 77mm filter size big. Additionally, the rest of the lens is also quite large. As a result, the regular focus ring clamps (the thing with the two plastic parts and the 4 springs) barely fit on the focus ring and the zoom sleeve (the clear plastic ring that hooks up to the housing controls) won't even fit on the lens. Thus the custom job...

I haven't thought of a good idea on how to make something myself. Does anyone have any ideas or experience?
