I haven't had time to respond yet. Sounds like a fun trip, though...

From the specs you give, I'd try the 2272x1704 @ "Normal" compression. It would also be interesting to know how these numbers were obtained i.e. what sorts of images they were shooting at the time. JPEG compression is fairly sensitive to the complexity of the image. If you're shooting "normal" fish portraits and such, it would nice to know what sorts of yields you see...
