I don't have a good explanation for it either but it's there and it's a pain in the ass. I can say that if the speed and aperture are determined before the button is pressed, it's a whole bunch faster. In other words, if it's in full manual exposure mode it's alot faster (camera doesn't decide anything) and in program exposure mode if I hit the exposure lock button it's faster (camera has already decided). Even in these cases it isn't near as fast as an SLR.

Whaletale, the camera was at full wa. It is an interesting thought though, what would happen if I used a little zoom. I'll give it a try if/when I get a chance.

I'll be leaving for Thailand/Burma this Friday and should get in 30 to 40 dives before I come home. Should be able to find out what it will and won't do. It'll be my first time in the water with either of the Inon lenses...should be interesting.
